My Golf Ball Went In The Panama City Sand

The Panama City Beach motto is "The World’s Most Beautiful Beaches", and that is exactly what you will find in this coastal town of 15,000 year round residents on Florida’s panhandle. The fantastic beaches and easy going attitude make Panama City Beach a terrific vacation destination for anyone searching for an idyllic vacation spot. The emerald ocean serves as a backdrop to the white sand beaches which are widely known as the best on the Gulf Coast. Fishing, shell hunting, and long seaside walks are key draws to the city.

Fishing is one of the more popular pastimes in Panama City Beach. Charters are a great mode to cruise the calm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and to encounter the exhilaration of sport fishing. Panama City Beach has many charter boats and companies that will cater to a range of requests, whether all day or overnight fishing tours or short half day family trips, the marinas at Panama City Beach offer something for everyone.  Beach vacations are all the better when you bring home pictures of your prize catch and the terrific banquet it provided.

As with much of Florida, golf is a main attraction. Typical temperatures in the vicinity hover around 74 degrees and the sun shines 320 days a year, so there are very few vacation destinations more appealing for the enthusiastic golfer. Panama City Beach and the larger, nearby Panama City are home to six championship golf courses and the city is frequently rated in the top three golfing getaways in the United States by Golf Digest. Some of the more recognized courses include the Bay Point Marriott Golf Resort and Spa which maintains the Club Meadows Course and the Nicklaus Resort Course.

The Callaway Bay Golf Club draws consistently high ratings. Signal Hill Golf Course and Bay Dunes are good values with relatively easy play, so they are fitting for families out for a spectacular day of golf. For spectacular scenery, the Pelican Point Golf Course and Nature Walk Golf Course are undeniably worth a visit.  All of these golf courses have romantic bed breakfasts to stay at with fantastic views.

As you might imagine, seafood is the culinary area of expertise in Panama City Beach. Panama City Beach and neighboring Panama City host many of the finest bistros in the region. From casual cafes on the sand to gourmet bistros and five star restaurants, Panama City Beach is an excellent destination for a culinary enthusiast.

The Boar's Head Restaurant on Beach Front Road is well recognized for surf and turf. The Montego Bay Seafood House is a long standing neighborhood favorite and has a famous raw oyster bar. The Saltwater Grill on Middle Beach Road offers more sophisticated fare, with a romantic mood and a famed 25,000 gallon tropical saltwater aquarium. Of course, these are merely a handfull of the many restaurants that can be enjoyed in Panama City Beach.
