Golf swing drills to sharpen your skills

A golf swing is the golden ticket to a well hit ball, and thus a successful round of golf. Yet, it is one of the trickiest things to get down, and is even harder to master. Practice and more practice is the only thing to get consecutively good at this, but how do you get around doing that? Golf swing drills of course. The best thing to do when learning to play golf is to pick up an instructional video or book that helps you iron out the techniques. By this time in your golf training, you are aware of the rules and simply need to get the physical actions down, which a video will be able to help you with. It will show you what a proper and improper swing looks like and will help you get all the kinks out of a bad swing.

A great drill to practice can be done anywhere at anytime because it does not require any equipment! Hold our hands out and press them together, palms facing each other. Do a few practice swings and make sure your hands do not come apart or slide. This will help you get a good even swing down.

A good golf stance has a lot do with a good swing. Stand just far enough back that you are able to make contact with the ball comfortably. The ball should be between your legs or a little bit closer to your front foot to optimize the hit on the down swing.

The golf swing uses just about every muscle in the body, all for just moving a small ball from one side of an area to another. Because of this it is important to practice all the types of swings, since sometimes you will need distance and others you will need perfect accuracy. Practice not only driving and putting but chipping as well.Golf is such a complex sport, but a great one to get into. It does take a good investment of time, as one must really practice in order to be able to play on actual courses. Practice drills whenever possible to get down the most basic but important part of the sport, the swing.
